Meditations: Balance

Balance

With divine guidance, I balance all aspects of my life into an integrated whole.

Career, family, friends, church, associations, sleep, relaxation. As we live our lives, we can be pulled in many directions. Sometimes we feel we are being stretched. Other times we might feel as if we are being ripped apart.

It‘s good to start the day with prayer and meditation to initiate the day peacefully, but even when we do, we may find ourselves in turmoil later in the day. The demands from competing portions of our lives may be disorienting. At that point, it is good to take a few deep breaths, center ourselves again, and find a moment or two to enter the Silence. It need not take long, just long enough to ask for guidance in balancing our priorities.

Job 31:6, “Let me be weighed in a just balance, that God may know my integrity.”
