Gratitude

I give thanks to the Lord, for his mercy and his grace are upon me.

Cicero said, “While there’s life, there’s hope.” Even in a time of troubles, we find reason to press on. One technique for doing so is counting our blessings. God has blessed us in a thousand ways if we seek them out, and finding them, being thankful for them, writing them down, and concentrating on these blessings will attract better to us.

So let us think of what we have. As we go through our list, let us ask ourselves:

  • Who or what supports me?
  • What do I take delight in?
  • What good have I attracted to me?

Perhaps we are blessed with family, a strong friend, many friends, a good job, time to serve others, robust health, a mind full of good ideas and inspirations, perhaps a pet that we can watch, share, or delight in. Or maybe a blessing for us is a small thing, like the existence of bacon-flavored candy canes. In the end, our greatest blessing may be The Law of Mind Action, “What you think on grows.” So, let us think on our blessings, that they may multiply a thousand times or more.

Psalm 107:8, “Let the righteous of the Lord give thanks to him; for his mercies are upon the children of men!”
