Change

I cooperate in the unfoldment of God’s plan for me.

No life goes as we have planned. Change comes knocking on our doors in a hundred ways every day. A co-worker calls in sick, and we have to perform extra duties, perhaps answering the company phone or running the month end processing that they would normally do. Perhaps change comes in the form of a phone call or a letter or a neighbor knocking on our door. A change can shake our routines. Perhaps we get a new job that is on the night shift, and we have to get used to sleeping in the day and doing complex tasks at three in the morning.

However change comes and whatever the change is, we need to accept it quickly, to adapt to the change, knowing that this may be God knocking on our door with His plan for us, a plan we did not expect: a plan that is leading us onward to our spiritual growth and our good. It does nothing to complain bitterly or resist the change. Such actions do not change the facts. By adopting change and moving forward, by acknowledging change and blessing the change, we avoid the drama that others might bring to change.

Job 1:21, “And he said, Naked I came out of my mother’s womb; and naked shall I return; the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
